Your Golden Retriever sheds a lot, particularly during twice-a-year shed seasons. Chasing balls and playing games are favorite pastimes. They will thrive in homes where they can be active and spend time with their human family. An energetic pup with deep-rooted gundog and retriever instincts, your Golden Retriever will require exercise and mental stimulation to expend their energy and keep them from getting bored. They are active and affectionate, social and playful.
Golden Retrievers are gentle, kind, and eager to please. You will find moderate feathering on underbody and forelegs, and more substantial feathering on the neck-front, back of the thighs, and underneath the tail. The outer coat may be straight or wavy and will display lustrous color in varying shades of gold. They have a dense, water repellent coat with a thick undercoat. They will typically have black eye rims, nose, and lips. Their ears hang down to about the outer edge of their dark eyes. The Golden Retriever is known to get along well with children and other pets, making it an ideal family member.
